An intergenerational community theatre performance about dementia, care, memory and our collective responsibility towards older people

Forget Me, Not (Ne zaboravi me) is an intergenerational community theatre performance developed as part of Caravan of Solidarity: Intergenerational Journey for Older People Rights, a cross-border project authored by Branka Bajić and Lazar Jovanov: https://www.facebook.com/caravansolidarity/. The project was conceived as an intergenerational and participatory artistic response to age-based discrimination and the social, economic and cultural challenges faced by older people, using applied theatre and community-based artistic practices to connect participants and audiences across Serbia and Hungary.

Within this project framework, Forget Me, Not was created through a several-month participatory theatre process with a community of women from Futog and Novi Sad, focusing specifically on dementia, caregiving, memory, ageing and the responsibility of society towards people living with dementia and those who care for them. The performance was produced by the Institution for Culture and Education – Cultural Centre “Mladost” Futog, the Serbian partner in the project.
Caravan of Solidarity is implemented within the Interreg VI-A IPA Hungary–Serbia Programme 2021–2027, with Pinceszínház Közhasznú Nonprofit Művészeti Kft. from Szeged, Hungary, as the lead partner and the Cultural Centre “Mladost” Futog, Serbia, as the Serbian project partner.
